Fatih Demirci was born in 1970 in Eskisehir, Turkey. Lived and studied in Germany in his primary and secondary education period. He graduated Cumhuriyet High School in Eskisehir, where he then received his degree from the Faculty of Pharmacy of Anadolu University, in his home city in 1992. In the year 1995, he obtained his MSc degree with his work on the “Synthesis of Phosphatidylcholine Analogues” in Chemistry at the School of Chemical Sciences of the University of East Anglia, Norwich in England. During his PhD, he has worked both at HEJ Research Institute of Chemisty, in Pakistan and at the Department of Pharmacognosy at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Mississippi Oxford in the United States, respectively. His PhD project: “Microbial Transformation of Bioactive Monoterpenes” was attained in 2000 at the Anadolu University. He earned his Faculty position the year after and was appointed as Assisting Professor in the Department of Pharmacognosy at Faculty of Pharmacy, Anadolu University, Eskisehir, Turkey. In 2002 he has moved as post-doctoral scientific co-worker to University of Regensburg, Department of Pharmaceutical Biology, Germany, where he worked on bioassays beside teaching, until end of 2003. During 2004-2005 he served as lieutenant in the Turkish Army, Military Drug Factory, at the ampoule service, in Ankara. More recently, in April 2005, he achieved Associate Professorship in the department of Pharmacognosy, Eskisehir, in 2010 he was then appointed as full Professor where he is still currently working as faculty member at the Faculty of Pharmacy. He served as director of Health Sciences until 2014, and thereafter as the founding dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences until July 2017 .
He has more than 100 international SCI publications, 20 book Chapters and is editor of several text books. He has more 30 national and international research projects. He founded with Prof.Baser in 2009, Badebio Biotechnology Ltd. a spin-off in Anadolu University.
He is married with Betül Demirci, who is in the Pharmacognosy Department. He has one son.
